COMMITMENTS

Both BABEL MUSIC XP & FIESTA DES SUDS structure their CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) commitments around 9 key action areas:

  1. Responsible waste management and sorting.
  2. Promoting a circular economy in production practices and usage.
  3. Sustainable and locally sourced catering.
  4. Encouraging eco-friendly mobility for both attendees and staff.
  5. Prevention, awareness, and risk reduction in festive environments.
  6. Responsible communication.
  7. Engagement with the local economic ecosystem.
  8. Solidarity and inclusion for audiences and within teams.

Training and raising awareness among staff on preventing sexual and sexist violence, harassment, and all forms of discrimination.

ASSOCIATIONS

At both Fiesta des Suds and Babel Music XP, volunteers from SOS MÉDITERRANÉE are always warmly welcomed to raise awareness among our audience about the plight of migrants at sea. This year, the “solidarity cups” initiative returns: bring your cup to the association’s stand to donate your €2 deposit!

RISK PREVENTION

Festivals are spaces of joy, discovery, and artistic encounters. It is our responsibility to implement operational measures that reduce risks. To this end, we have partnered with two established Marseille-based organizations to support us:

SAFER “A project committed to a culture of consent, aiming to make festivals more inclusive and welcoming.” Their expertise in managing sexual and sexist violence since 2021 ensures quality support for our audiences during the March 19, 20, and 21 evenings.

AVENIR SANTÉ will provide mediation focused on harm reduction in festive settings. With a non-judgmental and empathetic approach, they raise awareness around alcohol and psychoactive substance use. Harm reduction also covers auditory risks linked to amplified music. Throughout the festival, children’s headphones can be borrowed, and earplugs are freely available.

LISTEN & READ

It’s always delightful to dig through records, falling for vinyl covers, and trusting the record store’s advice. It is a pleasure not to be missed. Henrique from DISQUES DE LA SAINTE-VICTOIRE leaves his Beaurecueil shop to share his finely curated selection during the two evenings at la Plateforme.

Nadir and Yasmina from L’ÎLE AUX MOTS, a bookstore established in the Arenc district, return with a carefully chosen selection of monographs that link our roundtable themes, current societal issues, and references on global music.

Place des Fêtes from TSUGI RADIO will broadcast live, inviting you to discover the uniquely talented artists showcased at Babel Music XP.
