ELECTRONIC AND TRADITIONAL MUSIC, A SHARED FUTURE?

ROUND TABLE in partnership with GMEM - Centre national de création musicale preceded by the CAÏN و MUCHI showcase (BABEL MUSIC XP 2023 official selection)

For over 40 years, electronic music artists have been shaking up the traditional music scene, deploying forms of expression based on ancestral rhythmic or melodic structures with a contemporary twist in every continent. Far from the perennial opposition between tradition and modernity, musicians are following a different path, contributing to the development of traditions anchored firmly in their time. In this way they bring their own echoes to traditional music in constant motion. When oral and popular heritage is played through the prism of technology, will electronic music and traditional music be combined in the future?
