An audiovisual journey through the 1920s, from Marseilles to the United States, via Jamaica, Russia and Morocco, following in the footsteps of the Jamaican-born American Claude McKay. The documentary “Claude McKay, de Harlem à Marseille” by Matthieu Verdeil invites us to uncover the life and work of one of the greatest Jamaican-American authors of the 20th century. This film about the author – a trailblazer for literature and the black struggle – offers stunning visual overlaps and striking musical sequences.
