A hypnotic psychedelic odyssey of Greek laiko
A handful of notes from the sixties, a psychedelic sound, strings plucked from the Mediterranean: there’s no doubt about it, in a few sensual shimmies, Deli Teli invites you to get on the dancefloor and embark on a hypnotic, frenetic Greek odyssey. This local Marseille quartet have single-handedly brought the kitsch dance floor fillers from 60-70s Athens back to life. The laïko singing tradition runs through their music – a combination of traditional Greek music, pop and electro. Far from being outdated, it takes on a whole new momentum with an electrified bouzouki and farfisa organ that would make any Mediterranean party lover get down.
