Rete Italiana World Music is a new network connecting the most important Italian world and folk music festivals. It represents over 20 festivals that have been taking place for years in all Italian regions, from the Alps to the Mediterranean, with performances, stages, competitions and publications whose main objective is the enhancement of traditional music and culture and the promotion of young artists. The network includes events that take place in large cities or small villages, with cultural programmes that promote music and popular arts and with activities that foster tourism, trying to hinder the depopulation of rural areas, and bring young people closer to cultural production.
