APPROACHES TO YOUNG AUDIENCES IN THE FRENCH-SPEAKING WORLD

ROUND TABLE in partnership with BABEL MINOTS and AGESCA

Today, entertainment for youth audiences is at the heart of many societal debates. It has gone from simply being entertainment to becoming a lever for emancipation and the development of young children, and also for combating poverty. This shift, which is backed up by expert research into early childhood, has taken the form of a very pro-active government policy in recent years aimed at early childhood development and cultural professionals, which has an influence on both creativity and distribution. Here, different perspectives, notably from France, Canada and Belgium, will identify the different approaches to youth entertainment in relation to the respective regions and public policies.
